Brilliant article as usual.

“My landlord bought Apple and held it for 30 years. I actually can’t tell whether he’s an idiot or a genius, but I can tell you that I wish I had as much money as he.”

Morgan housel best summed this in his recent talk with Tim Ferris when talking about Buffett and coming to betting on what won’t change - not what will.

Great article! What if I'm a nitwit? I have no idea where I fit on the bell curve. I never thought about what category I fit into. I suppose we all are placed in categories by someone attempting to sell us something. My goal: life is a really fun game, live life with gratitude, keep my expectations lower and that keeps me content, learning and growing. Sounds boring? Life is a game of endurance, much like your landlord who bought apple stock, he bought and held, maybe he is the genius, especially if he is hedging his stock with options, to collect premiums! Stealth wealth building. Flying under the radar is half the fun! Thanks for the food for thought.

Well you certainly don't sound like a nitwit.

The point is, all of us are the midwit at some time or another, when we overthink things or talk ourselves out of good ideas. When we pursue "perfect" ideas instead of using the great ideas we already have.

And yes I agree that flying under the radar is half the fun. Haha. Stealthy.

My pleasure Lexi. Thanks for reading.

Justin, I totally agree with the view we are all midwits at some point, I oscillate in and out of idiot and midwit. It's taken me time to be true to myself and get to a place where others opinions of how I live my life are less important than my Northstar. Keep writing. You have a gift. I look forward to your unique outlook to challenge my perspective.

Me too honestly.

What is your North star?

My northern ✨? Freedom, to live, learn and earn without limits. Be open to new experiences and adventures and people. I have read obituaries daily in the newspaper since I was 12. I find them fascinating and inspiring to hear the story of lives well lived. I live with my own obituary in mind. I have strong opinions, loosely held and am willing and able to pivot with new information and viewpoints. I enjoy the contrast and opinions different than my own. Life on the edge, it's fun!

Interesting habit. Don't know anybody else who does that.

Sounds like you and I are on Ye Olde Same Page.
