I’m 100% with you on this. I especially like that you point out that there’s nothing wrong with bubblegum, you just can’t make a diet out of it. From an avid listener of Beethoven and Debussy (and as a high school music teacher), I’d be curious to hear what recent music you find nutritious. I have my list, but I’m always looking for more.

Three modern composers/pianists I really enjoy are Ludovico Einaudi, Luke Faulkner, and Fabio Gangi. I've discovered them all through classical music compilations on YouTube.

As far as pop and rock music, honestly I don't listen to much made after 2000. I know that sort of makes me a grump or a snob. But '90s alternative was so unique, so meaningful and so musically interesting and nothing since has really captured me.

I love Elastic Heart by Sia. I think Post Malone achieved something really special with Circles, even though I don't care for the rest of his music. Dog Days Are Over by Florence and The Machine. Or for an electronic song, Got Your Back by Washed Out is pretty special.

I rarely find bands whose entire catalog I enjoy. I mostly just discover individual songs.
